The structure is made of T-Slots and V-Slots. A V-Slot is basically a T-Slot with a 45 degrees cut so the wheels, which also have a 45 degrees angle on each side, can slide on it. V-Slots are more expensive so I used them only for the moving axes. They are easy to cut since they are made of aluminum and no need to drill any holes, just use a T-Nut where you need a screw.
The X axis uses timing belt and a stepper motor to move the glass and the Y Axis. The motor holder is 3D printed and I used an off-the-shelf timing belt tensionner on the other side.
The Y axis is using a lead screw and a stepper motor. The glass doesn't move and a bracket pushes on the shot dispenser
Sodas are carbonated, so it's important to use an air pump to create pressure in the bottle which is going to push the liquid out instead of a suction pump.
As you can see, the Y axis bracket is pushing on the shot dispenser and the top part is holding it. Each shot is 1.5 oz. The part in the middle is there to hold the soda tubes. All these parts are made of 3D printed PLA.
That's it! The robot can make the cocktail you want!
The ShotBot is keeping track of what you are drinking and tells you who has been drinking the most so far. This tracking feature allows drink suggestions based on previous orders and even alerts if someone is drinking too much and/or too fast.
Everyone chooses an RFID tag associated with an avatar. For my ShotBot, they are all Disney characters. It makes it easier because we don't have to enter names manually when we start using the ShotBot.
You can now choose your cocktail. The alcohols are associated with a number from 1 to 4 and the sodas from 5 to 9. For example, you can click 17 for alcohol number 1 and soda number 7. If you type A as well, you will get a double shot of 1 and a single of 7. Don't worry, this will count as 2 shots for the ranking! There is also a "Shot Roulette" option which will give you a random alcohol and a random soda. It can taste very bad, but for a reason I ignore, it's a very popular option.
I've added a little surprise. After 5 shots, your avatar picture changes to a funny "drunk" version of it.
